Carrier Battle Group in th Persian Gulf,
after Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, Aug 1990.

"After transitioning from the P-3's to S-3's,
the Indy was my first ship. My first "cat"
and "trap" as a Tailhook Aircrewman was
aboard Indy, as well as my Shellback Initiation.
Due to Desert Shield, the Indy was also
my longest underway period (111 days)."
