Was on board her for the Iranian hostage
crisis deployment. We were relieved in
the Indian Ocean went thru the Suez Canal
into the Med on our way home and we were
extended indefinately. I will never forget
the Carrier Group Admiral playing "On the
Road Again" by Willy Nelson over the 1MC
when we got orders to go home. We had I
think 96 days straight at sea and a 210
day total deployment. I decided to spend
a career in the Navy after that deployment.
I retired as a AOCS in 1998.
